PERTH: Pakistan qualified for the final of tri-nation hockey tournament after ending up in a tie with India in its second match on Tuesday, reported Express 24/7.
Pakistan will now play Australia in the finals in Perth on Thursday. The score between Pakistan and India was 1-1 in the semi-final.
Pakistan will also play another tri-nation hockey tournament against India and Australia prior to the Champions Trophy. The tournament saw a few innovations being introduced, including reduced playing time and smaller hockey fields.
In the first match of the series, Pakistan and India got into a physical brawl resulting in a number of Pakistani players injured who couldn’t make it to their following match with Australia. After the clash, three India players and one official were banned while Pakistan served a one-match punishment.
The first match had also ended in a tie with 3-3.
